Through understanding our circumstances and ourselves more fully, we can begin to make sense of what's happening and reconnect with our own sense of choice, control and autonomy.
I'm a BACP-registered counsellor who supports people who are confused, overwhelmed or simply unsure of what is going on for them.
People who are starting to question What's really, actually going on here? How have I ended up in this situation? Why does this keep happening to me?
Many of the people I work with are capable, thoughtful and used to managing things themselves. From the outside they may appear to have things under control; successful careers, families, good friends and a life others would consider fulfilling. While privately something may not feel quite right. You may be questioning your choices, relationships, priorities or your sense of fulfilment. Perhaps you feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand, or you have reached a point where the ways you have always coped no longer seem to be working.
How I work I support people to explore and understand their circumstances and themselves with honesty and clarity, so that they can reconnect with their own sense of choice, control and autonomy.
What we understand, we can change.
I work from an accepting, non-shaming, open minded position, where it feels possible to speak openly, honestly and to face difficult things. Together we can develop a curious and thoughtful way to look at what's happening.
For some people, this might mean making sense of a difficult period or a significant life change. For others, it may involve looking at relationships, identity, choices, expectations or exploring exactly what it is they want from life now.
Qualifications and Experience I'm a fully qualified, integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. My core practitioner training was completed with Willows in Swindon.
My clinical practice has seen me work in agency and charity settings including Willows, Swindon and Olive Branch, Chippenham. I have now worked in private practice for several years and I'm also a CPCAB counselling tutor, teaching students in their second year of counsellor training. I have a particular interest in early attachment and psychoanalytic theory. Following an introductory year with CFAR, I am currently undertaking pre-clinical psychoanalytic psychotherapy training with Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy in Bristol.

Next Steps If you are considering starting counselling or want to find out more, do get in touch to arrange an initial consultation. You don’t need to have everything figured out and you don’t need to write a long explanation. Simply send me an email or leave a voicemail telling me a little about what's going on and if you can, include a few days or times that might work for you.
An initial consultation is an opportunity for us to talk about what’s going on for you, what you’re looking for and whether I might be the right person to support you, with no pressure or obligation to continue beyond the initial consultation. It’s simply a chance to meet, talk and see whether working together feels right.
