Hello, I'm Louise, a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.
I'm a member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. I am fully insured and hold a current DBS.
I'm an integrative counsellor, which means I am trained in and utilise a range of therapeutic models. My work is rooted in Person Centred Therapy, a humanistic, holistic model. I draw upon Psychodynamic insights and utilise techniques and tools from Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), My work is also informed by developmental and attachment theory, transactional analysis, and the latest in neuroscientific research findings.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and offer short and long term 1:1 Psychotherapeutic Counselling for adults.
I work beyond the quick fix, self help, solution based models. Most of the people I work with have already heard and know that self help strategies such as breathing exercises, good sleep, diet, exercise, journaling and time spent in nature will help their well -being and mental health. You are unlikely to find these suggestions in our work together. I offer beyond these strategies, working in a different, more therapeutic way, to gently and safely uncover, explore, and make space of the deeper rooted reasons you are currently experiencing difficulties and distress in your life.
If you would like further information about how I work, please do get in touch
