Frequently Asked Questions
What can I talk about in counselling?
You are welcome to talk about anything that’s on your mind. This might include anxiety, low mood, relationships, grief, trauma, identity, self-esteem, or anything that’s affecting your wellbeing. There’s no issue too big or too small.
How long is each session?
Sessions last 50 minutes. We will agree on a regular time slot that works for you.
How much do sessions cost?
My standard fee is £50 per session.
Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
I offer both in-person sessions from Pew Hill House, Pew Hill, Chippenham, SN15 1DN and online sessions via a secure video platform or telephone. You're welcome to choose the format that suits you best.
How do I book a session?
You can contact me via email or phone, I’ll get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a suitable time for your first session.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore what’s brought you to counselling and what you’d like to get from it. You’re under no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to – we’ll go at your pace.
Is everything I say confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a core part of the counselling relationship. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions, which I’ll explain clearly in our first session and in my privacy policy.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals and what you'd like to work on. Some clients attend short-term therapy (6–12 sessions), while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll review things regularly together.
